CatVando and Kittens
Appearing on Harrison Street

The wonderful CatVando TNR (Trap, Neuter and Release) Organization based in Maywood is looking for great homes for their cute and cuddly rescued kittens. They will be outside our store (Sirius Cooks, 142 Harrison, Oak Park, IL) from 10am - 2pm on Saturday, July 11. Come on down and bring a feline friend home to your own four-legged- isn't it time to bring a new life (or lives) into your home?

Poodle Parade
Sacré bleu!

The Careful Peach (located at 128 Harrison, Oak Park, IL) is having a Poodle Parade to celebrate Bastille Day. Dogs and their friends will promenade down the streets beginning at 10:30am sharp! Remember, you don't have to be a Poodle to march. This is a celebration of all four-leggeds so all breeds are welcome. Word on the street is that Brad Pitt may attend. :)

The Sirius Cooks oldest of the pack ....

Indy

Has passed on. A nightmare of Lyphoma that took him way too fast. He was wise. He found us via the cornfields of Indiana to the shelter of the Animal Care League. Our other dogs, Bear and Zoe, our cats Lily and Larkin are doing fine, but we are all missing him teribly. Thank you for all your thoughts and wishes.

A special thank you to Ken (our amazing friend who is dealing with his own surgery) dropping everything to be in our store, the vets at Family Pet and Veterinary Speciality Center (Dr. Harrington) and Dr. Barbara Royal.

If nothing else, the loss of Indy makes us appreciate all the time we had (and still have with our "pack"), and also commits us even further to better nutrition that does not contain any wheat or corn. He began eating the best at age 5. If only we knew then, what we know now.

Thanks,

Julie & Harriet
