Sirius Cooks in May
... a bit of this and that ...
Ok, so an update on where we've been seen:
You have to click to the page and then into the top right area, where they list the videos.
We got to be on TV so if you've always wondered what our kitchen looks like, you get to see us making stews and cookies.
• We have been getting many, many emails concerning our food. We thank you for your kind and descriptive words. Remember to pre-order suppers so we can have it ready for you every time.
That leads us to setting up a Testimonial page on our website. Do you have a great story of how much your cat or dog loves our home-cooking? Or even some funny happenstance when you offered them the food - some told us their dog licked their bowl so enthusiastically, it hit the wall. Their dog then proceeded to push the feeder away so they could get to the wall. Our dogs are also enthusiastic barkers when it comes to serving up their food. We'd list you with your first name last name initial to keep your privacy. So send on those words to: siriusinfo@siriuscooks.com
• On another note, this is for our customers who feed their four-leggeds Orijen. Did you know that with every 12 bags you'll get a free bag from Sirius Cooks?! We've been keeping track for you, and wanted to surprise you with your loyal feedings, but the cat's out of the bag. Come on in and we can tell you what number bag you're on.
Seminar on May 22nd
Meet our holistic vet, Dr. Barbara Royal
Our first, ever seminar will be in May! And what better person, than our holistic vet you've been hearing so much about - Dr. Barbara Royal. She will making her excursion from Chicago on Thursday, May 22nd and will be speaking from 7pm to 8pm on "Feeding Healthy." We will be opening up the session to questions at the end, so come prepared and with your SHORT answer-questions. Okay, there might not be any short answers when it comes to healthy nutrition - but we have Dr. Royal for one night only. :)
Please email us with your decisions to attend. This will give us an idea of space we may need for this seminar.
There will be a follow-up email reminder on this seminar.
What's Blooming on Harrison
Specials we'll be offering
"What's Blooming on Harrison" runs from Friday night, May 16th, 6-10pm, Saturday, May 17th from 12-8pm and Sunday May 18th from 12-5pm.
What the heck is this weekend? Oh, for those unused to a Midwestern winter - this is the first celebration of spring and all flowers and all of Harrison Arts District (in Oak Park, Illinois) celebrates the weekend with so many different events - yah just gotta come on down to take it all in.
For Sirius Cooks, this means an excellent pet masseuse on Saturday. Throughout the weekend, we'll have free treats to hand out to you, and your four-legged.
We'll also be running a 3-day drawing for a $15 coupon to anything in our store. The cost is $1.00 for each drawing "chance" and the money raised will go to CatVando - a new organization that conducts TNR (trap, neuter and release) for feral cats. So do you feel lucky? Well, the money goes to an excellent cause even if you don't win.
We will also be offering discounts on all Wellness dog and cat food products (including their grain-free CORE) and Addiction (raw dehydrated foods).
Who knows what else may be up our sleeve(s) ... we'll just have to wait and see.
Tips and treats
Raw bones with Omegas & New Products
Tired of the mess that the healthy Omega 3 Elk bones may cause? This tip is from one of our distributors, Melissa. In order to make it seem like a much more special event, they use a blanket (just for this purpose) that the dogs have to munch the bone while they're on it. Less to clean up and a better way of treating your four-legged to a treat.
Also, for those who have been reading of the Elk/MadCow disease problem happening in this country out west and even within this state ... these elk treats come from free range farm raised elk from Canada - and are even held to more stringent testing to cross the border. So rest assured, all has been done to keep your dogs safe and sound and still enjoying these healthy bones.
• We're getting into the flea/tick season, and you know us, we're always on the lookout for great (and the best/healthiest) products!
We're including what is listed on the packagings.
1. Aromadog: Aromotherapy for Dogs (Vet recommended)
"Flea Flicker" - "an all natural flea, tick, & mosquito repellent"
ingredients: leleshwa, citronella, peppermint and other essential oils
2. ArthurDog: Bug-a-Boo Bug off wipes
"Bug-a-Boo Bug off wipes" - Use before every walk" ... but "not a substitute for your veterinarian recommendations to protect pets against pests. Our product is an all natural, extra added shield against flies, mosquitos, gnats, tics and other bugs. ... To be used every 3-4 hours as needed.
Ingredients: soybean oil, geranium oil, coconut oil glycerin, lecithin, citric acid and water
If you dog is a hard-core, forest forager or long-grass romper, you may need something more intense, such as Frontline- so check with your vet first.
These products are for the backyard, hang-out-at-a party-with-you, or walk-around-the-block dogs.
• So please remember to pre-order Sirius Suppers™. We're now listing our food for the week on Tuesdays, but remember it's more efficient to place your orders ahead of time for those busy times over the weekend. Then your dog and/or cat will be assured of their food.
Cheers,
Julie & Harriet
